This is all you need to get out of making up your bed in the morning…
Boys/Girls this may be the perfect excuse you needed to NOT make up the bed in the morning… A group of researchers in The United Kingdom have come to the conclusion that it may in fact be healthier NOT to make up your bed in the morning.
It may not be the most attractive thing to look at, but an unmade bed can kill dust mites.
The lead researcher Dr. Stephen Pretlove, created a computer simulation to determine how changes in a home can affect the number of dust mites in beds.
It is estimated that the average bed has up 1.5 million dust mites.
Why Would An Unmade Bed Kill Dust Mites?
Dust mites are less than a millimetre long and consume scales of human skin and also produce allergens which we inhale while we’re sleeping. They can only survive by taking water from the air through the miniscule glands on the outside of their body.
When your bed is left unmade during the day, it can remove the moisture from the sheets and mattress, dehydrating and eventually killing the mites.
So next time you feel the urge to make up the bed… think twice. LOL
